Key Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Audit Planning
- Develop a risk-based Annual Internal Audit Plan aligned with AIG’s Risk Management Framework.
- Define audit policies and frameworks based on industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Oversee regular audits of financial records, operational processes, and transactions.
- Audit Execution & Oversight
- Lead and supervise internal audit teams across all locations and subsidiaries.
- Conduct performance audits, special investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate audit activities with external auditors and consultants.
- Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Perform organization-wide risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate internal controls for financial, operational, and technical processes.
- Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Governance & Ethics
- Promote ethical conduct and monitor for improper practices.
- Consult with senior management to assess risk appetite and propose control measures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and present detailed audit reports to the Board of Directors.
- Maintain audit documentation, including work plans, testing results, and conclusions.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to audit standards.
- Training & Development
- Conduct organization-wide training on audit requirements and best practices.
- Develop a competency framework for audit staff recruitment, performance, and succession planning.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CFE, CMA, or CISA are mandatory.
- Minimum 6+ years of leadership and technical experience in internal audit, with 1–3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in Gulf countries is an advantage.
