Technical Lead- LSA/FFA

Key Responsibilities:

 Life-Saving Appliances (LSA)

  • Check the general condition of lifeboats.
  • Examine the satisfactory condition and operation of release gear, davit, and winch.
  • Perform periodic inspection, servicing, and certification including documentation.
  • Conduct repair and maintenance of life rafts.
  • Familiarity with life raft containment opening/removal and inflation system disassembly.
  • Clean containers and perform fiberglass repairs if necessary.
  • Check emergency packs, replacing expired items as per regulations.
  • Inspect life raft equipment and replace as needed.
  • Verify cylinder operating head, valve, knife, and release wire conditions.
  • Experience with inspection of inflation systems and high-pressure hoses.
  • Check CO2 cylinder and verify content levels.
  • Deflate and repack life rafts into containers, preparing for dispatch.
  • Quality check completed work and ensure documentation compliance with regulations.

Firefighting Appliances (FFA):

  • Conduct periodic testing and inspections of firefighting appliances (FFA).
  • Perform work onboard vessels or at company workshops.
  • Manage spares requisition based on project requirements.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed test and inspection records.
  • Educate customers on the operation of installed equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Diploma / Engineering / ITI or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent academic and technical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of IMO/SOLAS regulations.
  • Knowledge of IACS and Non IACS Class approvals and process.
  • UAE driving License is added advantage.
